| Ms. Tomczeszyn’s
interest in costume design began at age eight when she would dress up her
brothers and sisters for living room dramas of which she was also the writer
and director. At age 17, Ms. Tomczeszyn left Waco, Texas to attend Parson’s
School of Design in New York City. After pursuing a very short career on
Seventh Avenue, Ms. Tomczeszyn attended and graduated from the design program
at the Yale School of Drama which led to working as the costume designer
of productions including “St. Joan of the Stockyards” at Yale
Repertory Theater, the world premier of the opera “Burning Bright”
and “A Midsummer’s Night Dream” a fascinating joint production
with The Charlotte Symphony and The Charlotte Repertory Theater, as well
as great experiences working as an assistant costume designer on Broadway
and Off-Broadway productions such as “She Loves Me”, “Passion”
and “No Man’s Land”. Since arriving in Los Angeles, Ms.
Tomczeszyn has had the great artistic fortune to work as the assistant costume
designer on films including “Pleasantville”, “Practical
Magic” and “Seabiscuit” and she is especially proud of
her association with Marvel Pictures working as the associate costume designer
for the films “Spiderman” and “Daredevil” and as
the costume designer for the upcoming Lions Gate release of the film version
of “The Punisher”. Ms. Tomczeszyn is married to writer/director
Scott Mathews and is the proud mother of writer/director Sarah Tomchesson-Rhodes. |
